It is a color that is elegant, classy, and timeless. Because it is such a versatile color, it is typically the first suit a man will buy. Even though the charcoal colored dress suit is so common, it is anything but boring. Below are three tie choices that will add more spice and a fresh touch to the charcoal suit. For more information on each tie, please click on the picture. The Bold Red Power TieWearing a dark charcoal suit with a red tie instantly draws attention to the outfit. It is a perfect combination for those who want to get noticed but without adding too much obnoxious flash to the classic suit. The tie featured on the left is a perfect example. The color may be bright, but it is not too overpowering and too intense. The subtle striped pattern on this tie adds a nice texture to the fabric. It is a perfect tie for charcoal suits that are patternless, have checks, or a fine birds-eye pattern. The best dress shirts are either solid white or light blue. We also suggest you add a neatly folded white pocket square to this outfit. Orange & Light Blue & GrayThis tie is a perfect choice for the spring and summer month. Even though this tie looks nice with many different suit colors, we like to match this tie with a light gray-blue dress shirt and a charcoal gray suit. This tie will add all the color you need. Unlike the bright red tie featured above, this orange tie adds a little more subtle color. It is perfect for those who want to show some fresh color but also appreciate a slightly understated ensemble. For more tips on how to match this tie, as well as to purchase this tie, please click on the picture on the left. The Spring LookLooking to wear the charcoal suit on a spring or summer day? Then this paisley patterned necktie in a light pastel yellow color will be a perfect accessory. The fine paisley pattern is combined with colors light yellow, lemon, and off-white. To match this tie we suggest a solid white dress shirt made from fine cotton twill, a solid charcoal gray suit, black dress shoes, and a folded light yellow pocket square - a look that will definitely turn heads anywhere you go. Your Cheap-Neckties.com Team Monday, August 9. 2010Ties for Fall FashionNeckties for the Fall SeasonAs summer is approaching its end, it is time to bring your fall and winter wardrobe out of storage. Besides thicker and warmer fabrics, colors are usually slightly darker, and patterns are stronger and more rugged. This is also true when it comes to neckties. While the spring calls for lighter and fresher colors, it is the darker and more muted color shades that dictate men's fall and winter tie fashion. Below are three excellent tie choices for this year's fall fashion. Elegant Copper-Orange Silk TieA stunning necktie in copper-orange color. The subtle striped pattern on this tie adds a golden shimmer to this tie - perfect for the tie-wearer seeking a classic and elegant look of suit & tie. What is also great is that this tie is easy to match. The pattern will pair equally well with solid, striped, as well as check pattered dress shirt. Our favorite way to wear this tie for this year's fall season: Navy blue suit that is either solid, has fine birds eye pattern, or is a window pane check design. The best dress shirt for this suit and tie combination is the solid white dress shirt made from fine cotton twill. This tie is handmade from 100% silk. For more information on this tie, to see a larger image, and/or to buy this necktie please click on the image. Bold Purple Paisley TieIf you are looking to add more color during the fall season, then this purple paisley necktie will be just perfect for you. While lighter color shades of pink and lavender are better suited for spring and summer, this deep purple, almost eggplant, necktie is excellent for the fall season. What makes this tie so unique is the combination of a century old and traditional Paisley pattern with modern colors. This tie looks excellent when paired with suits in navy and gray. Our top choice outfit for this year's fall season: Medium-gray pin striped suit, classic white dress shirt, black dress shoes, and this bold purple paisley tie. You will guaranteed get plenty of compliments! For more matching tips on this tie, as well as to purchase this tie please click the picture on the left. British Olive-Green Striped TieIf the two suggestions above are still too bright and bold, then this British regimental tie will guaranteed be right for you. The olive green background color is decorated with a classic striped design in colors red, yellow-tan, and midnight-blue. This tie is also made from a fabric called Mogador. It is a fabric that blends fine cotton in the warp with delicate silk in the weft. This fabric mixture creates a stiffer feel and also adds a fine ribbed fabric texture - perfect for the royal British look! We like this tie most when worn with suits in navy or brown. For this year's fall season we suggest you pair this tie with a tweed sports coat in brownish color, gray flannel pants, and a white button down collar oxford cloth dress shirt. Your Cheap-Neckties.com Team - Cheap Neck & Cheap Bow Ties on the Internet Tuesday, February 9. 2010Ascots and Other Unusual TiesDress Code for Ascots, Bolo Ties, and Other AnomaliesEvery man knows the classic neck and bow ties. Whether the tie is skinny or wide, is pre-tied or self-tied, has stripes or an intricate paisley pattern - the idea and general look is the same. However, there are other types of neckwear found in mens fashion throughout the world. Below is a list of ties that are much less common in daily wear. The Ascot Nowadays, ascot ties are much less common. It is a type of neckwear that resembles a cross between a silk scarf and a classic necktie. When untied the ascot is much wider and shorter than a regular necktie. Also, instead of having one narrow, and one broad end, the ascot tie has two ends that are symmetrical and equal in size. The ascot originated during the end of the 19th century in England. The ascot was part of the required attire for the infamous British horse race "The Royal Ascot" - hence the name. Traditionally the ascot is worn with top hat and tails and is part of formal morning and/or daytime attire. Today the ascot is worn much more casual. Even though men still wear ascots with tailcoat jackets for formal daytime weddings for instance, it is most commonly worn in a much dressed down fashion. Modern ascots are tied much looser and resemble more of a tugged in scarf. While formal ascots are solid colored the more casual ascots show more color and patterns - such as paisleys or foulard. The Neck-Slip The neck slip is a hybrid between the regular necktie and the ascot. The neck-slip is worn very loosely and tucked into the dress shirt so that only the ring around the neck is visible. It is a great fashion accessory for the slightly older male. It looks great in combination with sports coat, blazer jacket, as well as with a classic smoking jacket. The Bandana The bandana is typically associated with cowboys and early railroad workers. It is the type of neckwear that is most associated with working class men than any other. Bandana's are usually made from cotton and were worn to protect the neck from the sun as well as to help absorb sweat. If you want to try wearing a bandana then we suggest to wear it with a cotton shirt and tug it into the shirt in a similar fashion as you would with the ascot. The Bolo Tie The bolo tie originated in Arizona in the mid 20th century. It is a decorative type of neckwear that consists of a braided leather string and an ornamental clasp. The bolo tie became the official tie of Arizona in 1971. It is usually worn with western wear such as tight denim jeans, cowboy boots, flannel shirt, western belt and belt buckle, and the cowboy hat. Pink is a color that will add a fresh look to any shirt and suit, and if combined properly, is well suited for even a more conservative office environment. First of all, pink shirts and neckties should only be worn during the spring and summer - preferable also on a sunny day. Next, consider how conservative of an outfit you would like to create. Our example above is a perfect match for the slightly more traditional "suit & tie" wearer. The light rose-pink dress shirt adds subtle style to the conservative navy-blue suit. The narrow pink stripes in the dark blue tie perfectly bring the colors of shirt and suit together. It is a classic-elegant outfit that is perfect for spring and summer.
